What is Acne?
Acne is a skin condition caused as a result of excessive sebum production due to increased androgen level and blockage of hair follicles with oils and dead skin cells. It may appear as blackheads, whiteheads, pimples or painful cysts depending on the skin condition. Acne can be temporary or permanent skin condition. It can be cured if properly treated in early stages otherwise it causes scaring or permanent damage to the skin.

Pantothenic acid is found only in fresh and non-processed food. Processing and boiling of food eliminates the pantothenic acid from food.
Pantothenic Acid Acne Treatment:
As acne is caused due to excessive sebum production of sebaceous glands. Pantothenic acid treats acne by decreasing sebum production. This happens when pantothenic acid increases Coenzyme-A (CoA). CoA is a molecule of Pantothenic acid which is used for fatty acids metabolism and other biochemical reactions at cellular level. Deficiency of CoA slows down the metabolism of fatty acids resulting in more oil production in sebaceous glands. Pantothenic acid intake increases the Coenzyme-A in the body thus reducing the oil production by sebaceous glands causing acne.
